Re: Coleraine Water

At the Special Meeting yesterday, the City Council decided, as a one-time courtesy, to discount all August utility bills $34, the water portion of the bill. We appreciate your patience!

Rest assured, there is no bacteria present. Water going into the lines is clear. The discoloration is iron & manganese that builds up inside the pipes.

Hydrant flushing is being done a different way than in the past; it is 90% more effective in doing what flushing is intended to do. The flushing dislodges the build-up, which is necessary, but it results in some discoloration, which can be unpleasant.

If you have discoloration, please run an OUTSIDE faucet hose or water your lawn until it clears, 4-5 hours at a time.
